Give Thanks:

  • I am thankful that in the midst of a huge change for our ministry that the Lord is unifying and adding to our group. This month the core of our church “girded their loins” and were willing to break into subcommittees to help build up the church. We are just getting going, but I am thankful for their willingness to help me establish the church even though everyone is very busy and have the demands of raising small children and/or teenagers.
  • I am also thankful that slowly folks have been coming regularly who don’t usually come weekly, thus letting me/us know that there is still work to be done in this community, there is still some running left to do though me/we are often tired and things seem unclear.

Trust God:

  • Obviously we have a lot of work to get done and there are some real unknowns. First, we do need refocusing of our vision and approach to the community around us. We need prayer in developing our worship/music ministry so that it is not just accessible to folks that are here, but for folks the Lord has drawn my wife and me to over the past decade. We need prayer as we have to move to a new location for January, and space is so limited in the Central District. We are considering neighboring communities of Beacon Hill, the ID, but my hope is we can stay in the CD.
  • Finally, we really need finances! I am currently waiting on two churches to help contribute, and we obviously need to keep faithful giving coming–if we are not sustainable over the next year, I will either need to be bi-vocational, or close the Jubilee church doors.

Prayer Requests:

  • Lord, you have called, will you not provide? You laid out a promise to Abraham, you protected him and his wife in the wilderness and you ultimately provided on the Mount of the Lord. Lord will you not do the same for Abraham’s children at Jubilee. Lord, we can make plans like Abraham, Sarah and Hagar, but Lord it is your Promise that stands through Jesus Christ! Protect and provide what we need to reach souls in the CD, help us to walk in obedience and faith for as long as you would have us here. Amen.
