Give Thanks:

  • In October we launched our first of three home community that will serve as the bedrock of our church planting vision. We began with 6 people and now our group includes 15 adults (28 with children!). Our mission is to live as extended family experiencing the spiritual, social, and cultural renewal of Christ. Very quickly our home community has embodied this very vision.
  • After their first visit, one family invited the wife of another family over for dinner because her husband was away on business that week. For one husband this is the first time that he can truly claim Christian men as friends. One family in our home community came one time and then had a baby. Of course they missed several gatherings thereafter but our entire HC has brought them meals. Finally, just this past Saturday we participated in a parish tree planting together with a non-profit here in Portland called Friends of Trees. This fall has been amazing and we are grateful to our Father!

Trust God:

  • I currently have requests from other people who are looking for a home community and our current home community is maxed out. It’s too early to launch a new home community so we’re in a bit of a bind. Please pray that God would give us wisdom and understanding as to the way forward.

Prayer Requests:

  • We live in a diverse part of town and likewise have a diverse university near our parish. Diversity is one of the core values of our plant and we are looking forward to understanding how the gospel can cultivate unity amidst diversity through our planting efforts.
