Coram Deo Presbyterian Church, Spokane, WA – Rev. Kyle and Gretchen Parker

Monday, 18 May 2015

Give Thanks:

  • Overall a good month with visitors interested in talking about the details of the plant. We have markedly improved musically and structurally in working through a worship service. University students continue to be a huge blessing.

Trust God:

  • Our biggest logistical challenge continues to be Sunday evening worship — we are hopeful an open door with the school district that was previously firmly closed will answer our needs for the fall.
  • Summer is a stressful time for me regarding personal expectation as our neighborhood clears out in the summer months as many in Eastern Washington simply head to lake homes and camping multiple weekends in throughout the month.
  • We have a couple our session is interviewing this afternoon out of Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte who are interested in raising support to come and work in Coram Deo focusing on University students with an eye towards a plant in Cheney Washington in 5-7 years.

Prayer Requests:

  • We thank you for your prayerful support and encouragement as we work to plant Coram Deo Presbyterian on Spokane’s South Hill. The work is marching along and we are encouraged by the interest and response toward the possibility of moving worship into Sunday mornings at an elementary school and launching the church in August. Pray for needed increase in funding to offset the costs of moving worship into a school and the wisdom to handle the various logistical challenges well. We have a couple who are graduating from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte who are exploring the idea of raising support to move to Spokane and work with Coram Deo!
