Northwest Church Planting Network – Rev. Michael and Sandra Kelly

Monday, 17 August 2015

Give Thanks:

  • In October, we will welcome Rev. Jason Dorsey to Redeemer Redmond the Network’s first church plant (2004) after the departure founding pastor, Rev. Andre Lewis for another call. We are excited to see the important work enter a new chapter and to see our dear friends the Dorsey’s return to the NW where Jason served as an Associate Pastor from 1997-2002. I have enjoyed my eight months as Interim Preaching Pastor, but look forward to the opportunity to dedicate sermon preparation time to a very important season for the Network.
  • Our first Alaska plant will welcome its new Pastor-Planter on August 30th. Soon-to-be Reverent Andrew Allen and his wife Amy are a gift to us and people of the Kenai Peninsula. Give thanks with us for realizing our prayers to reach beyond Washington and Oregon.
  • On the family front, our daughter is pregnant. We are giving thanks and prepping to be Grandparents in the first part of 2016.

Trust God:

  • In significant, the last half of 2015 through 2016 will set the pace and scale for the next chapter of our role in God’s plans for NW church planting. We hope to see him build a broader and deeper financial foundation and more involvement from leaders in our Presbytery.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please ask God for wisdom and unity among the Network Board as we refine and deploy our fundraising plans over the next 45 days.
  • Ask God to lead us to the right planters and families for new works. We are in dialog with a couple about an apprenticeship in 2016 and will be engaging seminary students about summer internships as well.
  • Keep our planters in your prayers. Ask for union in their marriages, deep gospel formation in their hearts, peace and prosperity in their ministries.
  • Our vision is to continue to plant in Washington and Oregon and to see God work in Idaho in the future as he has in Alaska. Pray that we would be patient, but also have the faith to follow God’s provision when he leads us to the right opportunities.
  • Please pray for plans for this fall’s Wives’ Getaway the week of October 21st through the 24th. Keep the leadership team in your prayers as they finish up some of the final details. Please pray for all the ministry wives who will be joining this year. Pray that their schedules will clear and their children stay healthy this fall.
