Mission Northwest

Northwest Church Planting Network – Rev. Michael and Sandra Kelly

Monday, 4 April 2016

Give Thanks:

  • We’ve seen encouraging spiritual and notable numeric growth in Corvallis, Spokane and Portland including an adult baptism in Corvallis this month. We’ve also seen men who were not part of the original launch group commit to a Bible study in Soldotna.
  • Our ongoing connection to Russia continues to encourage the work of ministry in that part of the Kingdom. Board member Eric Irwin, Director Michael Kelly and Covenant Issaquah Deacon and Staff member Matthew Lanser taught in St. Petersburg, Russia in March.

Trust God:

  • The loss of Sandy’s father hits us hard and leaves a big void in the family. Additionally, the trip home to his side and then memorial as well as the 12-day intensive teaching trip to Russia pushed important fundraising work back and so compressed out timeline.
  • The upcoming academic 2016-2017 academic year provides an opportunity to launch our training program pending a sufficient number of students. We trust God will raise up candidates and local mentoring pastors to facilitate learning.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for our fundraising initiative, especially our discussions with church sessions.
  • Please pray for our pastoral care and coaching with church planters and their spouses. Ask God to give us wisdom and encouragement as well as eyes to see and ears to hear their needs and fears.
  • Pray for our internship program. We anticipate up to 5 participants.
  • Please pray for our family. Ian heads to Austria for the UW spring term. Luke continues his training with the Marines while Joanna is taking classes. Chris has taken a leadership post with his Radar team in the Air Force while he and Erin pray about their family dreams after such a difficult loss last fall of their first baby. And, of course, pray for our family as we move through the loss of Sandy’s dad and explore how to care for her mom.
