Mission Northwest

Northwest Church Planting Network – Rev. Michael and Sandra Kelly

Friday, 15 July 2016

Give Thanks:

  • Those who follow this plog, know that 2016 is a critical year for the future of the ministry. We are trusting God to move in NW congregations and their members to help this ministry fund its full operations from within our region. That process will take several years, so we continue to seek support to bridge the gap while regional funds grow to meet the need.
  • Those needs, of course, serve our chief need for laborers. Jesus commanded us to pray that God will provide workers for their field (Matthew 9.38). We look to his provision for the right leaders.

Trust God:

  • Our Oregon and Western Washington Cohorts for both planters and their wives are a joy. Participation is high, relationships and encouragement are growing and peer coaching and skill training are being delivered.
  • We’re seeing our important Generosity Audit initiative with Generis gain traction. This critical tool is offered to help our churches understand their generosity culture and disciple their people. Our hope is that by blessing congregations God will raise up generative resources for their local mission and the Network’s regional work.
  • I have had some very encouraging connections with very encouraged planters who see God working in their communities. I love these men and am proud to be part of their work.

Prayer Requests:

  • We will start a full summer of travel to around the Presbytery, guest preaching and meeting with church leaders. Please pray for those extraordinary efforts.
  • The PCA General Assembly is set for the week of 6/20 in Mobile, Alabama. In June at the PCA General Assembly, we reconnected with old friends and supports, network for new planters or apprentices and important meetings with Covenant Seminary representatives about extension study in the Northwest. Please pray for fruit from these sessions.
