Give Thanks:

  • We’ve had two young families visit lately and it looks like they’re sticking around.
  • We started Home Groups, discussing Keller’s book on marriage; meetings have been well-attended and well-received.
  • Our Deacon nominee and others are organizing some mercy ministry opportunities for the congregation to engage in.
  • Officer training has ended (!) and the guys are preparing for exams.
  • The congregation has signed the petition for particularization that I’m brought to the October Presbytery meeting.
  • We started Sunday School, and it’s been going very well; our SDA hosts have let us use the classrooms for free!
  • The sermon series on the Lord’s Prayer has been great for me! Others seem to be enjoying it as well.
  • Four Covenant children are making professions of faith and being admitted to the Table.

Trust God:

  • The nursery volunteer rotation has shrunk for a few reasons; I’m hoping the volunteer base will grow before the stress on the existing volunteers becomes a burden.
  • Another marriage has entered a severe crisis. We’re getting down to the way things really are in people’s hearts and relationships, and it ain’t pretty!

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray that the Gospel would truly help broken marriages to heal; that people would believe that change is possible by God’s grace!
  • Please pray for the Officer nominees to prepare well for exams and for relationships between leaders to flourish.
  • Please pray that our mercy ministries would provide opportunities for evangelism and conversions.
  • Please pray for finances to come together so we can particularize with some confidence!
